Tri-County Cosmetology Hosts Cut-A-Thon for Charity
The Tri-County Regional Cosmetology Program will host its third annual Cut-A-Thon and Style-A-Thon on Thursday, April 13, to raise funds for Franklin runners who are participating in the Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge 2017.
The event will be held from 2:10 p.m. to 7 p.m. on April 13 in the high school's salon, located at 147 Pond Street in Franklin. Tri-County RVTHS students and Post-Secondary students along with alumni donate their time to provide a haircut or style for patrons.
For a $10 donation, adults can receive a haircut. Students can participate for just $5. Those who do not wish to have their hair cut can have it washed, blow-dried, and styled for the same price. Attendees can also enter for the chance to win raffle prizes, including salon hair care products. Patrons are asked to purchase raffle tickets in lieu of tips.
All proceeds from the Cut-A-Thon will go to the Claudia Adams Barr Program in Innovative Cancer Research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
In the past two years, Tri-County’s Cosmetology program proudly raised $1800.00. The money raised this year will support Bonnie Cameron in her first Boston Marathon. Bonnie’s daughters, Katie and Kerry Cameron, and cousin, Micaela Cameron, will be running with her on Team Dana-Farber. Their goal is to raise $25,000.
The funds the team raises will go to the Claudia Adams Barr Program in Innovative Basic Cancer Research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
