Construction Craft Laborer
This program focuses on diverse skills to prepare students for employment as workers in the construction and repair of roads, highways, bridges, and tunnels. Other employment opportunities are in the hazardous waste management industry. Some tasks associated with this profession include building scaffolding, preparing and cleaning up a job site, laying pipe underground, placing concrete, and removing asbestos and lead from buildings. Graduates of the Construction Craft Laborer program may enter the Laborers Union of North America in their apprenticeship program, working under the mentoring of a skilled journey worker. Students pursuing a career as a Construction Craft laborer who complete the apprenticeship program may be eligible for credit at area colleges.
